BREAKING NEWS!!! WHO DARE WALK IN HIS SHOES? NELSON MANDELA DIES AT AGE 95!!!

The moment we have all dreaded and feared has come! The man who was known for using his own life as collateral to fight a bloody war is no more. He fought with no guns, machine guns, or bombs, yet he broke the shackles of hatred and bitterness tied around the necks of his own people. He fought with a message of peace, a weapon no one knew they had, until he showed them how to use it. For nearly three decades, those who did not understand him or understood his motives, locked him in prison and threw away the keys. But he endured and paid the price for what he believed in. To further solidify his battle for peace, Nelson Mandela established the first and only multicultural election that ultimately won him the presidency in 1994.

Early morning today, Thursday December 5, 2013, the former president of South Africa Nelson Mandela, was pronounced dead at age 95 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His death was confirmed by Chicago Tribune, WorldNews/NBCNews, and many other notable news outlets. African presidents including Nigeria's Goodluck Jonathan, as well as, other leaders all over Asia and Europe (including president Barack Obama), sent condolences to close family members, friends, and South Africa on behalf of the late president.

Nelson Mandela will always be remembered for his hard work, dedication, and greatness. He will surely be missed.

Please post your condolences below. Thank you.

BREAKING NEWS! FIRST EVER! EPIC AFRICAN KINGDOM STORY FILMED IN THE UNITED STATES?!

An exciting new story!

SEE FULL PICTURES OF CAST MEMBERS RIGHT BELOW "MOVIE SYNOPSIS"!

One of the obvious attribute that set Africa apart, is her deep rooted tradition passed down from generation to generation. Moreover, as society evolves and people travel out of their home country, most of these traditional stories become forgotten. With that being said, statistics shows that there are still a select few in the diaspora yearning for that connection to home (Africa).

For the first time ever, Papa G Films (a movie production company in Houston, Texas U.S.A) began collaborating with a group of professionals from different countries in African, Ghana, Sierra Léone, Nigeria, and Cameroon. This team started a project that has never been done before until now, they began filming a full-fledged, epic, kingdom saga right here in the United States. With just a few more months left to complete production, this film is said to not only entertain but also, enlighten the African traditional storytelling to all.

Movie Synopsis:

When an ousted Queen is denied the throne owed to her son over tribal patrician politics, she is forced into exile from her kingdom in Africa and flees to the United States with her family. While in the Diaspora, a council of her town’s men is formed and they agree to hear her plea; her case to return to her rightful place by a unanimous vote. While waiting for the day in front of the council, the obsessive Monarch would engage in all sorts of mischievous methods to sway support to her cause and will do anything to make sure nothing stands in her way for the power she once held. Along with her children, she would blaze a trail of broken relationship, betrayal and even dark magic, becoming notorious in her new home amongst her people for her quest for power; power the son is not sure he even wants to have.

SEE PICTURES!!! ZUHAIR MURAD'S TOP 18 SEXIEST DESIGNER DRESSES WORTH $15,000!!! WHICH ONE DO YOU WANT?!!

An exhilarating new story!

SEE FULL PICTURES RIGHT BELOW THE SURVEY.

Fashion in Africa is changing! This days, African fashion is becoming more accepting of western styles and culture. This new trend is encouraging African designers to create more versatile designs that combines both western and Africa cultures together.

Statistics show that fans are drawn to celebrities who have been able to display a balance between African and western culture. More so, despite the delay in Africa for current western styles, fans still demand the latest looks from celebrities. A good example is Omotola Jolade Ekinde, who won "best dressed" at the 2013 African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. Rita Dominic also won "best dressed" at the 2013 African Movie Academy Awards. Sources also say both celebrities previewed many designer dresses before finally settling on the gown they wore to the award shows.

Below are pictures of the latest trends in designer gowns. These gowns were designed by Zuhair Murad, one of Europe's most popular and reputable designers. His designs are strongly influenced by Arabian and western culture. Each dress cost roughly anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000.

The question to you is this: If you were given the choice to pick one of the dresses below to wear to an African award show, which one would you chose?

SEE PICTURES!!! TOP 10 DESIGNER FLAT BOTTOM SHOES FOR 2013!!! WHICH DESIGNER SHOE DO YOU LIKE BEST?!!

An Exciting New Story!

SEE FULL PICTURES RIGHT BELOW THE SURVEY.

There is a new trend taking Africa by storm! Even celebrites in Hollywood are seen displaying there own sense of style in these types of shoes. Africans in Africa have since taken advantage of this new trend.

The most comfortable and fashionable shoes to wear on any given summer day are sandals or flats. Due to the fact that many of us still walk bare footed if given the opportunity, flat bottom shoes or sandals have become our go-to shoe for our everyday life.

Another reason why most people like flat bottom shoes is because, it allows those who are flat footed to walk comfortably. In addition, those who are not flat footed, can also easily find flats that provide arch support for their arched feet. Flats runs in large sizes, allowing those with big feet a wide variety to chose from.

To be honest, as far as most women are concerned, we are not only interested in support and comfort, we also want the look; we want shoes that make our feet look fabulous!

BREAKING NEWS!!! “FIRST EVER” NOLLYWOOD "LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT" AWARD PRESENTED TO THE PRESIDENT OF GAMBIA?!

A Thrilling New Story!

SEE FULL PICTURES RIGHT BELOW THE SURVEY.

Nollywood professionals are not only being recognized in their home country Africa, now they are also being recognized in the United States of America. Within the past few years, the standard for the Nollywood movie industry has improved as a result of this recognition.  One of the pioneers behind the movie awards in America is NAFCA (Nollywood African Film Critic Awards). NAFCA also added an additional honorary section to their award ceremony.

The new section added to the NAFCA awards is called “Life Time Achievement” awards. This award honors exceptional individuals outside the film industry, who have brilliantly gone beyond the call of duty. Despite how new this particular award is to the film industry, it has become very popular and is now recognized all over the world.

NAFCA’s first ever "Life Time Achievement" award was presented to his Excellency President Dr. Yahya Jammeh of Gambia. Correspondents of NAFCA, who were present at the event, say that it was compulsory and appropriate to recognize his Excellency for his contributions to the beautiful country of Gambia.

During our interview with Dr. Olatoye, he revealed that the President was pleasantly surprised and said that he was very motivated and would go far beyond what he had already done for the people of Gambia.

Below is our interview with the President and C.E.O of NAFCA, Dr. Victor Olatoye:

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: How was your visit to Gambia?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: Where should I start? I guess from the beginning. The way we were received was unexpected because we thought we were going to have about 15 minutes with His Excellency President Dr. Yahya Jammeh and he gave us over 3 hours of his time. The president also told us to cancel our flights that day that he would want to host us for another week. We are really grateful for the Gambian hospitality. During our meeting we laid down our vision and mission and President Jammeh loved them all and when he also promised not to disappoint me, I was like “WOW” I am just a small boy trying to take care of Mama Africa. We went to Gambia to honor the president and we were honored. His Excellency President Dr.Yahya Jammeh is a good man and very patriotic. The VIP dinner with the ministers was great and the live entertainment was out of this world. Because of the warm reception, it is fair to say “We are all Gambians now”. Nothing but good news came out of our meeting with the Gambian leader His Excellency President Dr. Yahya Jammeh, but we don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. I can tell you this much it will be a first and will change Nollywood the way we know it.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: In a recent article by MordernGhana.com, the website quoted His Excellency President Dr. Yahya Jammeh. The president said: “it is one thing to win an award but once you win an award you are challenged either directly or indirectly to redouble your efforts and I am very proud of Africans like you in the Diaspora that know what is going on.” What came to your mind when you heard the president say those words to you and your team?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: The first thing that came to mind was “me”? I never expected that comment and we felt truly honored to have heard that from His Excellency President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia. It is one thing to be praised by your peers and it another to be praised by the president of a country.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: You also told MordernGhana.com during an interview that: “I think Africa should have a movie industry that is continental and would recognize African’s continental talents, because nobody is going to expose these talents for us.” What did you mean by that statement?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: As much as I would have loved to take credit for that statement, it was His Excellency President Dr. Yahya Jammeh who actually said that. President Jammeh is not only patriotic to the Gambians, but also to Africa. He believes the film industry needs to grow beyond Nollywood and Ghana and should be continental. His Excellency also feels that Africa’s continental talents need to be discovered by the African film industry. An organization like His Excellency’s talent hunt program and Nollywood Film Critics USA had been asked to join.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: Why is the NAFCA Membership Important?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: Because we need to take NAFCA to the next level and that requires bringing elite group of filmmakers together from across Africa for a credible award.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: How can people help NAFCA to grow?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: Advertise with us, promote us and buy NAFCA tickets. If we could unite people then we can say mission accomplished.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: Where do you see NAFCA 5 years from now?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: I would want NAFCA to continue to honor great filmmaking and impact people’s lives positively.

NOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT: What advice do you have for upcoming Nollywood entertainers?

DR. VICTOR OLATOYE: I would say love what you do, continue to learn so you can grow because no one knows it all as much as people might want you to believe. Surround yourself with positive people who will help you grow by encouraging you. Be true to yourself, because we all don’t have acting talent and we all cannot sing. No matter how hard I try I can never be P Square. Film Criticism I do, singing I cannot. Never do anything for money and fame. If you do what you love well enough, that thing called money and fame will surely come. Never trade sex for opportunities. “People who see things through the prism of sex end up getting screwed”. Never burn your bridges unless you are a great swimmer, even better than Michael Phelps. Always put God first. Once you have gotten that fame and money, never forget your fans and always stay connected and humble. Finally, one last thing, don’t forget to send my 10% in the mail for this advice. I would want to thank our fans for giving us the opportunity to continue to do what we do and for that I am eternally grateful.

Blow is an extremely short survey; please take a few seconds to answer it. We value your opinion greatly!

** Don't worry, the following survey is confidential. **

No one (including "Nollywood Spotlight") will be able to see your personal information.

ALTHOUGH NAFCA WILL SEE THIS SURVEY, THEY STILL CAN NOT SEE THE NAME, PICTURE, OR INFORMATION OF THE PERSON WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS SURVEY.

SPEAK YOUR MIND AND HAVE FUN!!!

Chinese in Africa

Chinese in Africa: Chinese Men Marry African Wife

This is a child of Chinese man and African woman, I have been thinking about  if this child should be considered a Chinese? Very confused ah!!! The child’s mother is a Côte d’Ivoire woman while father a migrant worker from China.

This young Chinese guy is from Fujian province and now lives in Congo, African. The girl is his African wife. They open a restaurant there to make money. And the couple can talk in Chinese.

Since the implementation of the strategy of “going out” strategy, a large number of Chinese men have married African women for the other half.
It is already not unusual that Chinese men marry black women; by contrast, fewer men dare to bring black girls back home.

Below are some photos of Chinese husband and African wife. The first photo is a Chinese man marrying a beautiful Angola girl. His wife is the kind of black beauties. She is very slim not a fat one that we generally think of, her skin is not dark but brown, the couple already has two children- two twin boys – at about age of 5 or 6. From children’s look, sorry, the father’s gene is much too strong; both look more like father than mother except for a little bit black skin.

Following the steps of Chinese companies, may Chinese workers go to Africa and work there for years. Some find their the other half there and choose to be  settled in Africa permanently with their African family.

A large number of Chinese men marry African women; maybe it can effectively solve the problem of gender imbalance in China!

A mixed-blood man of Chinese and African in Mauritius. Father is from Taishan of Guangdong Province and went to Africa for a living half a century ago. mother is the local black African. This picture was shot when he returned the home in Guangdong to get united with the family.
