Everyone including educators know that Wikipedia is one of the most trusted and accepted online encyclopedias for basic information on the internet. However, educational institutions do not accept Wikipedia as a reliable source of information for educational research. One of the reasons why educational institutions do not accept Wikipedia as a reliable source of information is due to the countless misinformation one is able to find on any given subject. An irritating example is Ramsey Nouah’s Date of birth.
Ramsey Nouah is a well known West African actor with over 200 Nollywood movies under his belt. More so, because of Ramsey’s work history, he as been able to create a steady flow of fans allover the world. Despite the fact that several websites including Websites like Nigriafilms.com, showbiz.peacefmonline.com, hintsonlinemagazine.com, nollywoodmindspace.com, and xfmnewscenter.com, all confirmed Ramsey’s personal statement with "Golden Icons ", Wikipedia still refuses to allow any updates to Ramsey’s information. Wikipedia actually repudiates anyone who insists on updating Ramsey Nouah’s personal information. Actually, I have personally attempted more than 7 times to update Ramsey’s information to no avail (even with cited sources). I mean seriously, since when has it ever been okay for anybody including Wiki to decide when a living person is born?
Ramsey Nouah himself, his colleagues, and his dedicated fans allover the world, know that the "real" Ramsey Nouah was not born on the 16th of July 1973. In fact, Ramsey Nouah came to Houston Texas to shoot a movie with a couple of his colleagues and was asked by an entertainment reporter with the Golden Icons what his date of birth was. Ramsey Nouah responded by commenting on his irritation with his information on Wikipedia then, he answered the question by saying he was born on the 19th of December 1970.
According to my research, over 100 changes has been made to Ramsey Nouah’s autobiography on Wikipedia. Majority of those changes occurred after his interview with the "Golden Icons" (with Emma Emerson and Bode Ojo). Up till now, wiki still refuses to allow any changes to Ramsey Nouah’s birth date.
