Fashion in Africa is changing! This days, African fashion is becoming more accepting of western styles and culture. This new trend is encouraging African designers to create more versatile designs that combines both western and Africa cultures together.
Statistics show that fans are drawn to celebrities who have been able to display a balance between African and western culture. More so, despite the delay in Africa for current western styles, fans still demand the latest looks from celebrities. A good example is Omotola Jolade Ekinde, who won "best dressed" at the 2013 African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. Rita Dominic also won "best dressed" at the 2013 African Movie Academy Awards. Sources also say both celebrities previewed many designer dresses before finally settling on the gown they wore to the award shows.
Below are pictures of the latest trends in designer gowns. These gowns were designed by Zuhair Murad, one of Europe's most popular and reputable designers. His designs are strongly influenced by Arabian and western culture. Each dress cost roughly anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000.
