FAMOUS U.S DIRECTOR “AB SALLU" TALKS ABOUT HIS BIGGEST NOLLYWOOD U.S.A PROJECT?!






A.B. Sallu was born to Sierra Leonean Parents who lived in the city of New York, U.S.A in the 1980s. As a teenager, he moved to Freetown, Sierra Leone to attend school. While away in Africa, tragedy struck and a civil war broke out. Frightened and looking for an outlet, A.B. developed an extreme interest in film making. Despite the dangers of war, A.B. persevered and completed his secondary education in Freetown. He then moved back to the United States to complete his Bachelor’s degree. He obtained two degrees, one in Broadcasting Engineering and the other in Film Making.

While Schooling in the United States, A.B worked on several projects geared for the European entertainment industry. He also shot music videos for up and coming musicians. In 2011 he joined ventures with one of the founding fathers of Nollywood U.S.A (Papa Gee) and shot his very first full featured Nollywood film.

Since then, A.B Sallu has successfully directed over 7 feature projects including Secret Past, African Connection, Dirty Pastor, Bloodline Battle, and A Message to Brian. “Bloodline Battle” and “A Message to Brian” are set to hit movie theaters in the United States summer 2014. 

Nollywood Radio France had an exclusive interview with AB Sallu. He was interviewed on the Nollywood Spotlight Show by Rebeccah Monyei and Cyprian Josson. During the interview, the multi-talented director shed some light on the current state of Nollywood USA and, the impact of Nollywood Africa. He also shared his passion for the industry and touched on his biggest project yet, “Bloodline Battle” (A Nollywood kingdom saga filmed in the United States).

About Cyril Odenigbo




Magnus Film Academy (M.F.A) is a sister company to Magnus Media & Entertainment, an outfit headed by Enugu state born, Lagos based Cyril Odenigbo. Cyril holds a diploma in Latin from All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha. He also read Economics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Awka, Anambra state. He is a Producer, Scriptwriter, Human Resource Manager, and a Consultant who served from 2001 to 2006 as the Chairman of the Association of Movie Producers ( AMP), Nnewi Chapter, Anambra state. He has worked with influential companies in the industry including Amaco Investment, Annex Merchandise, Fillmark Productions, to name a few.



M.F.A is also known for their empowerment program that was designed to take youths off the streets and get them meaningfully engaged. The program package entails training on Acting, Voice Modulation, Directing, Cinematography, Editing (Special Effects and 3D Effects), Scripting (Script Interpretation and Screenplay), The Art of Making Documentaries, Tips on How to Pass Auditions, Continuity and Film Production Management. The program is open to all youths as well as, anyone with the desire and willingness to take up a career in the film industry.

Magnus Film Academy recently concluded a highly successful training program at the Enugu training center, Airport Valley Resort, Abakiliki Road, Emene, Enugu state. The event had the strong backing of the Enugu State Ministry of Youths and Sports. Part of the motivation behind the Academy was the fact that, the Film Industry in Nigeria lacks the formal training and structure it desperately needs to succeed. The vision behind the Film Academy is to create a solid platform for talented youths to master there craft and provide the opportunity to build a career in film production and directing.



Some of the renowned professionals in the industry working with the Academy as facilitators include Chief Chika Okpala (Chief Zebrudaya of the New Masquerade fame), Theodore Anyanji (member Directors Guild of Nigeria), Segun Arinze (National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria Emeritus), Ngozi Nkebuaku (National President, Nigerian Society of Cinematographers), Gabriel Okorie (Nollywood Best Creative Makeup Artist 2012), Patience Ozokwo (Mama Gee), Ngozi Ezeonu and Dickson Iroegbu (AMAA Awards best director) amongst others.



Magnus Media & Entertainment (M.M.E) is a production company that spans to Music, Movie Productions, and other media practices such as, Corporate Branding, Modeling, Talent and Event Management. M.M.E was established in 2007 and has acquired a number of reputable achievements which included a successful audition carried out on behalf of the Catholic Artiste and the Entertainers Association of Nigeria in Awka Diocese, Anambra state, July 2010.

Cyril Odenigbo believes that these tools will not only teach these students their craft but aid them in their journey through life. He hopes that with the infusion of new young faces in the industry, the standard of entertainment in Nigeria will change for the better.

I am an Actor and a distributor for the Nollywood movie Industry. I have acted in a chain of films from both Nollywood (Nigeria) and Hollywood (United States of America). I acted in the Hollywood movie ‘‘BLACK GOLD'', which was produced by Jeta Amata and also, in the movie ''THE LOST NUMBER’’ that was produced by Dike ifeanyi. I am currently working on a movie project in which I am the lead actor. The title of my movie is ‘‘YOSUO’’, this movie was shot in Nigeria.



Within the next year, I will establish my own production company. The aim of my company will be to bring the best of talents from all over the world on screen. More so, my company will participate in both personal and contracted film projects.

About Mohamed Bah



I am an Actor and an Executive Producer. I have produced and premiered six Nollywood movies worldwide. My first leading role was in the movie “Secret Past”, working along side Pascal Atuma.



My passion for films spans back to my younger years when I used to participate in stage plays in Sierra Leone. I carried into reality my dream of working in Nollywood when I relocated to the United States of America. I chose minor roles in some Nollywood film projects to gain valuable insight into the film making process. With the knowledge I acquired from the movie industry, I established my own film production company. The aim of my company is to bring talents from all of Africa, to participate in both personal and contracted movie projects to come.
